Why Is It Important to Send Pictures in Order to Be Able to Receive a Quote?
Each person has different necessities, body types, skin and overall are not all candidate for the same procedures. Taking pictures for some patients may be a little nerve-racking since they don’t feel comfortable exposing themselves, however, they are crucial so the Doctor can properly evaluate the patient and be able to send them a personalized quote. It is important to state that these picture being sent are only seen by the treating surgeon and his or her patient coordinator, and are solely for consultation purposes.
Not all people are a candidate either for the same procedure or the procedure at all, which is why it is important to submit them. This will help avoid quoting patients for the wrong procedure, which is a waste of time of the person, having them think they will be able to proceed in having something that they were not a candidate for, or they are but need an extension of it, for example with Tummy Tuck’s, there are different kinds, they differ in the extension of the incision, so for instance if you don’t send pictures and are quoted for the correct kind of Tummy Tuck and when you arrive you end up needing a different one which costs more money and if you count with that additional money knowing that the procedure you paid for will not give you the results you are looking for, which will be very upsetting, and something that we want to ultimately avoid.
This goes for all procedures, Breast Enhancements, Liposuctions, Tummy Tuck, Rhinoplasty, Face Lift, etc. It is also important to make sure and asses yourself about your surgeon and the site you aboard, always check credentials and be certain the Doctor you pick is legitimate.
There are different ways to take pictures, depending on the procedure.
Facial (Rhinoplasty, Face Lift, Otoplasty)
Photos should be taken from top/crown of the head to just below the neck with collar bones visible. Facial features should be relaxed. No smiling or frowning, just a relaxed natural position. Keep the camera angle straightforward. Do not angle down or up, as this will also create an unnatural position/view of the facial features.
We would need a total of 4 pictures, (Front, Sides, and looking up).
Breast (Mid area) (Breast Lift, Breast Augmentation, Breast Reduction, Arm Lift)
Photos should be taken from just below the neck with shoulders visible to just above the belly button. Hands and arms should not be raised as this lifts the breasts to an unnatural position. Hands can rest on your hips with elbows bent naturally to the sides or rest naturally straight back. Be as relaxed as possible for the best photo outcome.
Keep the camera angle straightforward. Do not angle down or up, as this will also create an unnatural position/view of the breasts.
As for Arm Lift, front and back with arms extended.
We would need a total of 3 pictures, (Front and sides).
Body (Tummy Tuck, Thigh Lift, Liposuction, Brazilian Butt Lift)
Photos should be taken from just below your chin to your feet. The whole torso area should be visible with no undergarments obscuring the area to be examined. Hands and arms should not be raised as this lifts the abdomen to an unnatural position. Do not “suck in” the abdomen as this also creates an unnatural position. Inhale and exhale out to completely relax your abdomen. Hands can rest on your hips with elbows bent naturally to the sides. Be as relaxed as possible for the best photo outcome.
Keep the camera angle straightforward. Do not angle down or up, as this will also create an unnatural position/view of the abdomen area.
A total of 8 images/views are needed: 1 front view shot, 2 quarter front turn shots, 2 side views, 2 quarterback turn shots, and 1 fullback shot.
